The Baltimore Ravens look to expand one of the NFL preseason winning streaks ever on Thursday night when they visit with the Philadelphia Eagles. Will it continue?

This author will honestly care less about the NFL preseason, but we know you’re likely to wager on those games so I’ll be previewing a handful of them in Week 3. We ought to see some marginally larger spreads this week since Week 3 is usually when coaches will perform their starters the maximum — frequently the whole first half and sometimes one show in the third quarter. But a growing number of trainers are being cautious with their starting quarterbacks and not playing them.
I really do have a reasonable amount of interest in Thursday’s Ravens at Eagles matchup since Baltimore is on a 15-game preseason winning streak. Yep, you read that right: 15 games! That’s just not possible. It’s the preseason winning streak in NFL history. I read somewhere the Packers won something similar to 23 straight from 1959-63, however, I could not independently confirm that. Not easy to find preseason documents.
The calling card Baltimore during this series has been defense. The Ravens have enabled at least 20 points just once in that interval — Week 4 of last year after they beat the visiting Redskins 30-20. In Week 1 this year, the Ravens battered the Jacksonville Jaguars 29-0 and held the Jags to 112 yards. Last week, Baltimore defeat Green Bay 26-13 and held the Packers to 226 metres. It obviously helped that the Jags (Nick Foles) nor Packers (Aaron Rodgers) played with their starting quarterback.
“We will just have to see how [Brown's surgically repaired foot] reacts and hopefully he will go there,” Harbaugh said.
Eagles trainer Doug Pederson has to play with his starting quarterback Carson Wentz that this preseason, as well as now, it’s not clear if he can on Thursday. I might lean toward no only because Philly already has seen two copies go down to injury in Nate Sudfeld (wrist) and Cody Kessler (concussion). Pederson does not want to risk Wentz. It enticed 40-year-old Josh McCown out of retirement Since the team is so thin in the position. He had been defined as an ESPN analyst that this year.
This will be McCown’s 17th time along with the Eagles that his 11th team (initially in the NFC East). McCown is among seven players in NFL history to attempt a pass to seven teams. Miami’s Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of these. No more QB has thrown a pass for eight distinct teams in a regular-season match.
Philly has divided its two preseason matches and Pederson is 8-6 in them (8-6 ATS too ). We’re sticking with the Ravens till Harbaugh loses a dang game. I’d shop around to find the Ravens beneath -3.
