Winner Rory McIlroy has been named as the PGA Tour Player of the Year for a third time.

The 30-year-old beat world # 1 Brooks Koepka to the name after registering three successes through an impressive 2019, following wins in the Players Championship and also RBC Canadian Open by claiming the Tour Championship.
PGA Tour members registered 14 top-10s throughout the 2018-19 season in the 19 starts and voted for its award mcIlroy, who won the accolade at 2012 and 2014.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan stated:”While there are a number of honours one can receive in this match, PGA Tour Player of the Year has to be one of the most satisfying since it comes directly out of his peers.
“Rory’s year has been a model of immersion by landmark successes and finally the FedExCup at Atlanta.”
McIlroy submitted a tied-fourth finish in his Sentry Tournament of Champions debut and at the Farmers Insurance Open and Genesis Open.
The Northern Irishman claimed that a share of fourth in his title defence at the Arnold Palmer Invitational but returned to the winner’s group holding on for a one-shot win at The Players.
McIlroy suffered a last-16 exit to Tiger Woods at the WGC-Dell Match Play and neglected in his most recent pursuit to complete the career Grand Slam, completing tied-21st at the Experts, before after back-to-back top-10s in Quail Hollow and Bethpage Black along with his first missed cut of the year at The Memorial.
The former world # 1 bounced back to cruise to victory in Canada, where he broke the championship record using a final-round 61 on his path into a seven-shot win, with McIlroy then completing tied-ninth at the united states Open to finish a run of three straight missed cuts in the occasion.
McIlroy endured disappointment with an early exit in The Open, before completing tied-fourth in the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational after a final-round 71 together winner Koepka, quadruple-bogeying the opening hole at Royal Portrush.
Where McIlroy enrolled a four-shot win to maintain the FedExCup for a time and its $15million jackpot the four-time major winner finished tied-19th and tied-fourth within the opening 2 FedExCup play-off occasions to head to East Lake fifth in the standings.
Matt Kuchar koepka and Xander Schauffele would be the players although Sungjae Im has been voted the 2019 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, shortlisted for the award.
